Orijen's biologically appropriate food contains 85% meat, of which 2/3 is fresh, the other third is gently dehydrated fresh meat and oils. The meat comes from 5 different animal species in Wholeprey™ conditions, including chicken, turkey, eggs and fish. The last 15% consists of fruit and vegetables which ensure a low carbohydrate content.

Scientifically speaking, the dog is a carnivore, and with that in mind, Orijen has put together the most natural dry food for dogs possible. Orijen Original is food made for dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages and can be used for dogs with joint problems and general problems in the musculoskeletal system, as it contains a large amount of naturally occurring glucosamine and chondroitin from bone and cartilage (glucosamine: 1400 mg/kg and chondroitin: 1200 mg/kg, which is higher than some other specific joint diets in the market). In combination with the good fatty acids from fish, which are also found naturally in the food, it gives many dogs a visible improvement in their mobility problems.
