Historically, silver has been used to inhibit bacterial growth. You boiled water and immersed, say, a silver coin in it. The finished product was then used to treat wounds, tears, and other minor injuries.
Because of its properties, silver water is still used today. Simply spray it on exposed areas and leave it to dry or wash away. This can be done several times per day.
