Let your dog be seen in the dark
Good visibility and safety with lights attached to the dog collar, harness or leash is hugely important on walks when it's dark outside. Both so that others can see you and your dog, but also so that you can keep an eye on your dog if it runs freely. Safety lights is especially important if you live in a city and move among bicycles and cars, which can be a danger for both you and your dog. The lamps from Orbiloc can also be used for example when running and can be easily attached to the arm.
Where should the safety light be located?
Make sure that the safety light, from for example Orbiloc, is always positioned so that it can be seen from as many angles as possible. If your dog has a long and thick fur, the light may be hidden by the fur, so it may be an idea to place the light higher up in the dog leash. If your dog is walking with a harness, the lamp can be attached to the dog's back.
Will my dog be disturbed by the light?
Your dog won't notice the light if the light is right, and because the collar sits backwards behind the eyes, it won't be blinded by the light. Your dog will also quickly get used to the light of the lamp in complete darkness.
Is it only the dog that you should be able to see?
A good idea is that you as a dog owner also have a light on you during walks when it is dark outside. This allows pedestrians, cyclists and motorists to see that you are there next to the dog as passersby will be able to see two lights. With a safe and strong carabiner from Orbiloc, you can easily and quickly attach a safety light to your jacket or wherever it suits you.
The blue color and the car
If you use Orbiloc's safety light, you should be aware of one thing. It is not legal to have blue lights on the car as they are reserved for the police and other emergency vehicles. However, you can use the blue light on yourself or your dog, even the flashing function works well. The law only regulates blue lights on and in vehicles, but not on people and animals.
