DAXhund – the original wooden stool with more than 50 years of history

DAX is a small wooden stool – designed like a dachshund. The children can play with it and reach the sink for brushing their teeth. The adults can stand on it and reach the top shelf in the kitchen. DAX is produced in Denmark. It is extremely robust and made from environmentally friendly materials.

DAX is currently manufactured in cherry, oak and mahogany.

It is important for the producer to be able to document that the wood used is legally produced within sustainable forestry. Therefore, exotic woods from Africa, Asia and South America are not selected and raw materials from Europe and North America are used instead, which can always be traced back to the place of origin. All wood is FSC certified.

Since wood is a natural product, there are always variations in color and grain patterns. Each individual stool will therefore be unique – and slightly different from the specimens reproduced in the marketing material.

A high-quality bio-wax oil is used for the finishing, which is based on pure plant oils. Over time, the wood will dry out a little. Post-treatment is advised to prevent drying out.

No screws are used for assembly. The parts are milled out with great accuracy, and the special construction means that the stool is only assembled using glue. The dog's eyes are furniture nails in bronzed brass.

DAXhund has been tested at the Technological Institute, in a furniture machine and when the stool is positioned correctly on all 4 legs, it can withstand a load of 1,000 kg. And if it is laid on its side, it can withstand a maximum load of 60 kg.
However, it cannot withstand being dropped on e.g. concrete floor.
